In 2013, more than 15% of landed immigrants in Canada were selected through Provincial Nominee Programmes.
The Provincial Nominee Programmes allow provinces to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada and intend to settle in a particular province. It is know as one of the fastest routes to permanent residency in Canada.
Most provinces in Canada offer unique immigration programmes that are tailored to address the local demands and immigration objectives of each particular province.
Through different agreements between the Federal Government of Canada and the provincial governments, each province nominates individuals for permanent residency. Once a foreign national receives the nomination certificate from a province, they will then submit their final immigration application to the Federal Government of Canada (CIC) for health and security checks.
